AutoCAD Shortcut Commands

One of the best ways to become better and faster at drafting in autoCAD is to learn hotkeys and shortcuts. Using your mouse to select an icon or navigate through menu selections is vastly more time-consuming that hitting quick keyboard commands. All of the commands in autoCAD are available using the text command line. So, even though you'll have all your favorite menus and icons showing, save the mileage on your mouse and learn the text commands.

Some people set their right mouse button to be the [enter] key. I prefer to use it for the shortcuts menu, since in autoCAD the space bar is also [enter]. Don't bother learning the long versions of the text commands. There's no bonus points for typing "circle"[enter] when "c"[space] will do. Notice that most of the commonly-used commands are on the left-side of the keyboard? This is so you can draft with your left hand on the keyboard and your right hand on the mouse.
Helpful AutoCAD Shortcut Commands:

Aarc
Bblock
Ccircle
Ddimstyle
Eerase
Ffillet
Ggroup
Hbhatch
Iinsert
Lline
Mmove
Ooffset
Ppan
Rredraw
Sstretch

Happy drafting!
