Landscape Architecture Resource is a free membership website designed to help increase communication and networking amongst landscape architects, students, educators, recruiters, materials suppliers and other professionals involved in making designs into reality. Our goal is to help landscape architects get more done in less time with less pain and more fun! This means having useful information at your fingertips and being able to easily find the people, materials, products, companies and tools that you need each day.

Landscape Architecture Resource (LAR) began in early 2007 as GreenLid, a collection of links on green roofs, which quickly evolved into a landscape architecture blog. The site grew with the addition of articles on both the design and business sides of the landscape architecture profession. Common features were design inspiration, autoCAD tips, LARE exam resources and advice on job hunting and interview skills.

In May 2008 the site officially became LandscapeArchitectureResource.com to reflect its nature as a broader source of information. By this time several new features had been added including a plant search engine, an online bookstore and a competitive salary calculator.

In March 2010 the site was re-launched with a total re-design centered around the new landscape materials and products directory. The re-design allowed several features to come to the forefront including the Job Board and the Bookstore, and featured the ability for visitors to search the products catalog and the list of supplier and manufacturer members of the site.

Future features include a landscape architecture schools directory that will allow students to search geographically or by academic programs offered; and a firms directory which will allow visitors to search firms by location, services offered, and areas of specialty.
