I've posted below on the virtues of car-sharing and why I love not owning a car.

Here's a TED video featuring the founder of Zip Car and why she thinks that car-sharing is the next step in the evolution of our relationship to the automobile. Have a look at the first 7 minutes. After that, to be honest, she loses me a bit when she talks about mesh networks. But I've never heard a better case for car-sharing and ride-sharing, too!
